Executive Search is pleased to announce:
  • California High-Speed Rail Authority Board has appointed Jeff Morales its new Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Morales is the former Director of CalTrans, and leaves his position as Vice-President of Parsons Brinckerhoff. Mr. Morales will start in his new position on Monday, June 18th.
  • Cathy Reineke has been appointed as the Executive Director for the San Mateo County Schools Insurance Group. Cathy has most recently been a consultant with her own business regarding Risk Management. Previously, she served as the Risk Manager for the Seattle School District. Her start date July 2, 2012.
  • Martin Lysons has been appointed the new Assistant City Attorney for the City of Brentwood. Mr. Lysons has served for the past 12 years as an attorney with the East Bay firm of Gagen McCoy, McMahon, Koss, Markowitz & Raines. His start date is May 29, 2012.
  • Gary Cohen has been appointed the new General Counsel for the California Health Benefit Exchange. He was most recently the Director of the Oversight Group for the Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight (CCIIO) within the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
  • Nevada Irrigation District has appointed Jim Malberg as its new Finance Manager. Mr. Malberg has been serving as a consultant for Willdan Financial Services for the past four years. His start date with NID is April 30th.
  • Eric Angstadt has been appointed the new Planning Director with the City of Berkeley. He is currently the Deputy Director of the Community and Economic Development Agency with the City of Oakland. Eric’s start date is Monday, April 30th.
  • Rosa Rios has been appointed the City Secretary in Dallas. Ms. Rios has more than 20 years of municipal experience and joined the City in August of 2006 as the Assistant City Secretary. She has been the Acting City Secretary since July of 2011.
  • Effective April 16th, Janet Hawks becomes the new Deputy Director of Parks and Recreation (Operations and Maintenance) for the County of Santa Clara. Janet has served as Chief of Operations for Arizona State Parks for the past 12 years.
  • Effective February 20, 2012, Colleen Trask becomes the Finance Director for the McKinleyville Community Services District. She has served in several accounting roles around the Humboldt County area, in addition to teaching Accounting at Humboldt State University.
  • Chester Helt has been appointed to the position of Assistant Director of Communications and Information Services for the City of Dallas. Mr. Helt, who leaves his position as IT Infrastructure Manager for the City of Plano, will start in his new position on March 7th.
  • Ed Oborn has been appointed the new Controller for the Modesto Irrigation District (MID). Mr. Oborn leaves his position with the City of Roseville as Assistant Finance Director to join MID starting January 9th.
  • Effective November 29, 2011, Matthew Fisk becomes the new Municipal Court Administrator for the City of Las Vegas Municipal Court. Mr. Fisk leaves his position as Court Administrator for the Reno Municipal Court.
  • Tom Duensing has been appointed the new Director of Finance/Administrative Services for the City of Maricopa, AZ. Mr. Duensing is currently the City Auditor for the City of Tempe, and has served the City in the Finance Department for the past 16-plus years. His start date is Monday, December 19th.
  • Robb Courtney was appointed the new Director of Parks and Recreation for the County of Santa Clara on November 7th. Mr. Courtney has served as Director of Parks for the City of Seattle for the past three-plus years.
  • Miki Tsubota was appointed the new Assistant Director of Public Works-Engineering for the City of Brentwood. Mr. Tsubota will be leaving his civil engineering position with the City of Napa to join Brentwood’s team. Mr. Tsubota’s start date is October 10th.
  • Jim O’Connor has been appointed the new Assistant General Manager – Operations for the East Bay Regional Park District. Mr. O’Connor will be leaving his current position of Deputy Director of Parks and Recreation for Santa Clara County. His start date with East Bay is September 26th.
  • Effective October 1st, 2011, Dennis Coleman becomes the Finance Manager for the Florin Resource Conservation District. Mr. Coleman most recently held the position of Finance Director with the City of Solana Beach.
  • City of Sacramento has appointed John Shirey as its new City Manager effective September 1st. Mr. Shirey was previously the Executive Director of the California Redevelopment Association.
  • Mark Stanley, former Director of Development with the Riverside Transit Agency, has been appointed the Executive Officer with the San Gabriel & Lower Los Angeles Rivers and Mountains Conservancy. His start date is August 22, 2011.
  • The Town of Gilbert, AZ has appointed Patrick Banger as its new City Manager effective August 15th. He has held positions in the home building industry, and previously served as City Administrator for O’Fallon, Missouri.
